Artist's Statement:

This sculpture is a reflection on the way we control, or attempt to control, things we think are beneath us—animals, land, systems, even each other—rarely stopping to ask if they consent, or how long they’ll carry us. “Ride the Pig” is a warning: even the most unassuming forces will resist when pushed too far.
